At end of day when work is done

and we behold the setting sun,

we watch the beauty You provide,

this coming night with us abide.

When light does to the darkness yield,

we ask You be our Strength and Shield.

Still grateful for the passing day,

Lord watch o’er us tonight we pray.

Grant us the rest we nightly need,

teach us to follow where You lead.

Refresh us, Lord, body and soul

and for Your service make us whole.
