The Kingdom
Paraphrase on John 14 and Revelation 21
Before Jesus ascended to heaven He said:
"I go to prepare you a home,
but don't be dismayed, I 'm coming again,
and will bring to earth My throne!"
That day God will make heaven and earth again new,
the old earth will then pass away,
from heaven descends Jerusalem new,
and the night is as bright as day.
Our tears, sorrows and pain then will all disappear,
and death also shall be no more.
Oh, glory the day that His voice we hear,
and peace shall be evermore.
His new temple on earth with His people will be,
and truly we will be His people.
The Alpha and the Omega is He
and He will dwell with His own people.
Refrain:
Oh, what a day that will be:
miracles, pure gold the street,
a stream of living waters we 'll see
and, yes, there we will Jesus meet.
4th verse repeat:
yes, best of all, then we see Jesus.
