LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
(from Matthew 5:13-16)

Let your light shine before men.
Let your light shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven.
Let your light shine before men.
Matthew five sixteen.

You are the salt of the earth.
You are the salt of the earth.
Let people see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven.
You are the salt of the earth.
Matthew five thirteen.

You are the light of the world.
You are the light of the world.
Let people see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven.
You are the light of the world.
Matthew five fourteen.

Let my light shine before men.
Let my light shine before men
that they may see my good deeds
and praise my Father in heaven.
Let my light shine before men !
May it always be !!

Written August 2, 2002 while camping at the Franstead Family
Campground in New Hampshire.

It was the 2002-2003 theme verse for
the New Covenant Christian School (Marlboro, MA)

Julie Joyner  helped modify the melody,
and has taught this song to the children
during NCCS Chapel.

Translated into the Urdu language
by Samson Ayaz , from Pakistan
Urdu Translation

This past week I was searching for a song to use in church this Sunday.
The message comes from Matt. 5:13-16, so “salt of the earth” and
“light of the world” are important elements, obviously.

An internet search brought me to your song on the New Hope
Music website.  I was unfamiliar with it, but I wanted something
like it for congregational singing, and it fit perfectly with the message.

Anyway, I was able to build an accompaniment and  we plan to use it
in the service tomorrow.
