Over a dozen years encouraging saints around the world !! (1991-2004)
Our background MIDI is
"May You Be Exalted",
written by Ralph Merrifield,
performed by Adrian V. Miller (from Canada)
It's
strange where ideas for songs come from...
When my youngest was a baby, I used to hold her in my arms,
lower her to the floor, and quickly swing her upwards
until she was snuggled against my shoulder.
This swooping motion always caused her to giggle;
this movement also became the seed for the "swooping" melody
of the "may you" phrase at the beginning of each line of this chorus.
On
the spur of the moment during recording,
I decided to experiment and slide a D chord from first fret
to the second, musically matching the "may you" phrase.
Although quite effective, my fingers hurt for days afterwards !!!
