Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?   Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, put your hope in God, my Savior and my God.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  and why art thou disquieted in me?hope thou in God: hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous, the righteous be shaken.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord hath anointed me
to preach good tidings unto the meek;

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. He cares, He cares for you

Casting, casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Lesson 2: The Night Of Doubt

And He said unto them, "Why are ye troubled? Why are ye troubled?
and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?"

Jesus saith unto him, "Thomas,
because thou hast seen Me, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Above all, taking the shield of faith, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
and saves those who are crushed in spirit

The Lord is nigh unto them (xxx)
that are of a broken heart; (xxx)
and saveth such as be (xxx)
of a contrite spirit. (x)

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

A man's heart deviseth his way:
 but the Lord directeth his steps.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord, saith the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher, higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one, the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall,for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand.

For a just man falleth seven times,
and riseth up again, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Do not gloat over me, my enemy!
Do not gloat over me! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy:
Rejoice not against me.  when I fall,
I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

The angel of the Lord encamps around
those who fear him, and he  delivers them.

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them,

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. I put my trust in you.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee.

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call to you. I call as my heart grows faint; my heart grows faint. Lead me, o lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, I cry unto thee when my heart is overwhelmed, my heart is overwhelmed:  lead me, o lead me
to the rock that is higher than I.

So do not fear, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Fear thou not; Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, 
love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1, verse 7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them for the Lord your God goes with you; 
He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Turn to me and be gracious to me,
turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted. Turn to me, turn to me

Turn Thee unto me, and have mercy,
have mercy upon me; Turn Thee unto me, and have mercy, have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted,

Yet I am always with You;  I am always with You; I am always. I am always, I am always with You;  You hold me by my right hand.

Nevertheless... I am continually with Thee: I am continually with Thee:  I am continually, I am continually, I am continually with Thee: Thou hast holden me by my right hand.

At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me.
May it not be held against them.  But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, 

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me;

Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
they will be comforted.
Matthew 5, verse 4

Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you
to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him, will God bring with Him.

Praise be to the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies,
and the God of all comfort;  Who comforteth us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort them,
comfort them which are in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith we ourselves
are comforted of God.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes.

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away.

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what
is now being done, the saving of many lives.

But as for you, ye thought evil against me;
but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary, will not grow weary and lose heart.

Consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

My flesh and my heart may fail,

Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption, adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

But He said to me,  "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness."   Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

And He said unto me,  "My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness."  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and
anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord

Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead, dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good

For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn - conflicts on the outside, fears within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus

For, when we were come into Macedonia,
our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears. Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

You make known to me the path of life;
You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy;  at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left,
your ears will hear a voice, behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it.”

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, this is the way, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you, with my loving eye on you.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert
