I can barely see through my tears
of healing to type this note. I am
listening to the music from your site and "Peace
I Give To You" is very
powerful just now. "...with open hands and grateful heart, I
receive..."
Please pass along my thanks to the songwriter and to the artist and
let them know that they are being used by God.
(Karen, grieving over the recent death of her husband)
SONGS OF COMFORT
My Soul With You
the comfort found close to
God's heart
(from Psalm 131)
Oh Lord, my heart is not proud nor my eye lifted up
I don't involve myself in things too great or difficult
Like a weaned child at it's mother's breast
My soul with You finds comfort and rest
My soul with You finds comfort and restOh Lord, I hunger and thirst, feel so weary and worn
Tired from traveling many miles battered by the storms
As a baby lamb longs for pastures green
Close to my Shepherd I want to be
Close to my Shepherd I want to be
"Your programme has been an inspiration to me
and as organist for a World War II veterans church,
I have achieved wonders in giving The Lords Word in music form
to many who have not accepted our Saviour."

As I was in the
nursing home tonight with a dying relative...
words came to me. The words were 'When I am afraid I will trust in
You'.
It continued to minister to me until I got up and searched the Internet
to see if there really was such a song! ...
it must have been your
song.... Thank you...

He Maketh No Mistakes
My Father’s way may twist and
turn,
My heart may throb and ache.
But in my soul I’m glad I know,
He maketh no mistake.
My cherished plans may go astray,
My hopes may fade away,
But still I’ll trust my Lord to lead
For He doth know the way.
Tho’ night be dark and it may seem
That day will never break;
I’ll pin my faith, my all in Him.
He maketh no mistake.
There’s so much now I cannot see,
My eyesight’s far too dim;
But come what may, I’ll simply trust
And leave it all to Him.
For by and by the mist will lift
And plain it all He’ll make,
Through all the way, tho’ dark to me,
He made not one mistake.

(A. M. Overton was a pastor who lost his beloved wife,
and during her funeral, he wrote this incredible poem)
I (Ralph
Merrifield) lost my mother to cancer a few years ago.
As I was preparing to share at the memorial service,
my wife gave me a wonderful poem, "He Maketh No Mistakes".
I found comfort in it and included it in the eulogy.
A short time later, I sent it to my good friend, Adrian V. Miller,
who wrote beautiful music for this hymn.
Jared Kuiper and I have also written versions of this song...
"He
Makes No Mistakes"
by A.M. Overton & Adrian V. Miller
"He
Maketh No Mistake"
by A.M. Overton & Jared Kuiper
"In
My Father's Hands"
by A.M. Overton & Ralph Merrifield
A friend of mine recently lost her
son who had Trisomy 18.
"He Maketh No Mistake", the poem, was given to her from another
friend who had lost her husband. I found the sheet music you provided.
I can now sing it for her. Thank you for providing that sheet music!
(email from Amanda)
I want to personally thank you for
helping both Karen and I through the
power and grace of your music. You were
there for Karen during a critical period after
the death of her husband....
Karen would send me e-mails and phone me, letting me know
how her
spirit was comforted by your music. Having listened to your songs over and
over again,
I can see why your God-breathed thoughts comforted her in her time
of greatest need.

THE STABILITY OF OUR TIMES
(from Isaiah 33)
The Lord is exalted for He dwells on high
With justice and righteousness He has filled Zion
And He will be the stability of our times
A wealth of salvation, wisdom and
knowledge
The fear of the Lord is our treasure
Majestic King, be gracious
to us
Please forgive our sin, Compassionate Judge
Pour forth Your mercy yet uphold Your Law
Be now our Strength and Rock
