Finnish translation by Lea Alaja,
choir arrangement by Marja Väisänen
We have been singing "To
The Rock" many times, once in the church meeting
and many times in the hospitals. This song is one of our favorites...
it has a sweet anointing as we sing it. We made a live recording
with three microphones in the meeting...
we'll send you a CD soon... (Lea, from Finland)
Here
are two wonderful recording of the
Helsinki Greater Grace Church choir
singing this song. Thank you, my friends !

JOHDA MINUT KALLIOLLE
(To The Rock)
1. Johda minut kalliolle,
mua korkeammalle.
Johda minut kalliolle,
mua korkeammalle.
Oot turvapaikkani,
Sua tarvitsen.
Johda minut kalliolle,
mua korkeammalle.
2. Anna minun asustaa
Sinun majassasi.
Anna minun asustaa
Sinun majassasi.
Oot turvapaikkani,
Sua tarvitsen,
Anna minun asustaa
Sinun majassasi.
3. Kätke siipiesi suojaan
iankaikkisesti.
Kätke siipiesi suojaan
iankaikkisesti.
Oot turvapaikkani,
Sua tarvitsen,
Kätke siipiesi suojaan
iankaikkisesti.
Translation from the Finnish words to English:
1. Lead me to the rock,
higher than I.
Lead me to the rock,
higher than I.
You are my refuge,
I need You.
Lead me to the rock,
higher than I.
2. Let me dwell
in Your tent.
Let me dwell
in Your tent.
You are my refuge,
I need You,
Let me dwell
in your tent.
3. Hide me under Your wings forever.
Hide me under Your wings forever,
You are my refuge, I need You,
Hide me under Your wings forever.
During this Christmas season, my
friend Marja and
I have translated 4 of your songs into Finnish:
"Abba
Father", "Heavens And Earth", "Robe
Of Righteousness",
"To The Rock".
I send you here the
Finnish words and also the translations from Finnish
words
to English, so you can see how we have
translated them. Marja is also
doing choir arrangements to the songs...
we'll send the notes to you when
they are written.
Because the Finnish language is so different from English with a
plenty of
syllables, we had to make some changes in words and in the
duration of
some notes, but we think the idea and
the spirit of the songs is the same as you
had...

The "Hospital
Choir" of the Greater Grace Church
in the yard of the war veteran's home (Helsinki, Finland)
Yesterday our
"hospital choir" visited a home for war veterans.
We sang old and new songs included "Johda Minut Kalliolle".
Afterwards one old man stood up and said: "Thank you for showing us the way
to the Rock, what you sang and spoke about." (Lea, from Finland)
