Encouraging people around the world since 1991 !!

I want to say a special thanks to the New Hope Music Group.  I came across
your site by accident last evening, as I was looking for piano music for a child.
The first hymn I heard was by the
"By The Waters of Babylon"
and I have chosen it to be our closing Hymn
for the Easter Midnight Mass.

BY THE WATERS OF BABYLON

As an optional introduction, we sing the round:
"Waters Of Babylon"

By the waters the waters of Babylon
We lay down and wept and wept for Thee Zion
We remember we remember we remember Thee Zion

(1) The land was dark; the tomb was bare
when Mary came to the entrance

The stone's rolled away; the body's gone;
and I don't know where they've put Him

CHORUS:
He is risen; let Zion break forth rejoicing:
Dry your tear drops; the Lord has come to His throne

(2) Peter ran ahead but John was close behind;
then both arrived at the graveside.

Strips of linen there, folded up with care
they saw and believed in His Word

CHORUS:
He is risen; let Zion break forth rejoicing:
Dry your tear drops; the Lord has come to His throne

(3) Mary stayed behind, with tears in her eyes
when angels made their appearance.

They've taken Him away, to where I cannot say;
When Jesus spoke with assurance...

"I have risen, let Zion break forth rejoicing.
Dry your teardrops, the Lord has come to His throne"

(4) I will not believe 'till He pulls up His sleeves
and shows me proof of His living

"Peace be unto you, touch me if you choose.
I'm Lord, your God and your King"

He is risen, let Zion break forth rejoicing.
Dry your teardrops, the Lord has come to His throne...
Jesus lives in His own...  the King will bring us home...

Easter service by the Euphrates River in Iraq

It is a very nice song.  I would like to teach the Sunday School children
at the National Evangelical Church for the coming Easter programme.

(Anita -  United States Navy,  from Bahrain)

Pastor Steve Misarski wrote this Easter song while sitting beside
the Euphrates River.  He was stationed in Iraq for 1 year,
serving as a military chaplain.

He has set a goal to write one Easter song each year.

We feature two other written by Steve,
"Hallelujah, Jesus Is Lord" and "Arise, My Soul".

I did this song years ago with my church choir and
we want to do the song again this year. I just sang it with
guitar accompaniment after hearing the MP3.
(Diane,  from California)
