You can view the lyrics, hear the melody,
change the tempo and even modify the key
to match your vocal range!

2) Right click and "Save Target As..."
to download the file(s) below to your computer.
(remember where you save the files)

3) Start the software, then open the karaoke file(s)
that you downloaded from this site.

NOTE: There might be a chance that vanBasco won't install.
In that case follow these steps:
go to the download page, click on DOWNLOAD,
then don't install, but click on Save or Save As
to save the file on your harddisk.

Now go to the download map,
RIGHT-click on the downloaded file vkaraoke.exe
and select "run as administrator".
If you want to install a language file afterwards,
then follow the same procedure.

It has to do with the User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 7, 8 or 10.
When UAC is set too high (the security level in your operating system is too high),
vanBasco may refuse to install correctly.

BACKGROUND

It all started with an email from the Netherlands...

"Hello Ralph,

About 4 months ago I mailed Elton Smith and asked him if I were allowed
to add lyrics to all midi's on his website that didn't have lyrics. He agreed and
gave me permission to share the results with the karaoke newsgroup
alt.binaries.karaoke as well. I was wondering if I had to contact every writer
and/or sequencer and I decided negative: it takes a lot of time and I had the
feeling that it wouldn't be necessary after asking Elton.

Meanwhile I found 2 links to 2 of your Christmas songs and decided to add
the lyrics and write to you, to ask your permission to share the attached files.
I hope I can also add lyrics to other midi-files on your website in the future.
Besides the 2 Christmas files from your site, I also attached your songs
from Elton's site. They all have lyrics.

You can see the result and play them with a midi-karaoke player,
for instance the free and user-friendly vanBasco:

The normal extention for midi-karaoke files is .KAR, but because
many sequencer programs have difficulty reading that format, I changed
it to .MID. Today's karaoke players can read both MID and KAR extension.

of New Hope Music songs, using our MIDIs as accompaniment. Here is one sample recording.
